Terms of Service

29 September 2026

These terms govern the use of PlateRefine ("the Service"). By using the Service you agree to them.

1. What the Service does

The Service attempts to restore a licence plate from a section of video that you select.

We do not guarantee that a result will be accurate, legible, or fit for any particular purpose. Depending on the resolution, lighting and motion blur of the footage, a readable result may not be possible.

2. Price and payment

・The price is $2.99 per restoration, charged through Stripe.

・If no licence plate is found, you are not charged.

・Refunds are not normally offered once payment completes. If you would like one, please get in touch through our contact form and we will review your request individually.

・The full-resolution result becomes available once payment completes. Before payment it is shown behind a mosaic.

3. The footage you upload

You confirm that, for any footage you upload:

・you obtained it lawfully and hold the rights needed to use it with the Service; and

・using it here does not infringe anyone else's rights, including their image rights, privacy or copyright.

4. What you may not do

・Anything unlawful, or anything that supports a criminal act

・Identifying a person in order to follow, harass or intimidate them

・Uploading footage while impersonating someone else

・Sending automated or excessive requests, or otherwise interfering with the Service

・Copying, modifying or reverse-engineering the Service

5. Your data

Uploaded footage is deleted 24 hours after processing ends, and results after 30 days. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

6. Liability

The Service is provided as is. Our liability for any loss arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid for it.

If a dispute arises between you and a third party, you are responsible for resolving it at your own cost.

7. Changes and interruptions

We may change what the Service does, or suspend it, without notice.

8. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, the new version will be published on this page.
