Privacy Policy
30 September 2026
This policy explains how PlateRefine ("the Service") handles information about the people who use it.
1. What we collect
The Service does not require an account. You can use it without giving a name or an email address, except when you contact us.
We collect the following.
・A short section of your video — roughly two seconds either side of the moment you choose, cut out in your browser. The full video file is never uploaded.
・A small image of the area you selected, used to tell your results apart in the list.
・The file name, the video dimensions, the chosen timestamp, and the coordinates of your selection.
・An anonymous user identifier, issued automatically by Google Firebase Authentication.
・A record of the payment: amount, currency, status, and the identifiers issued by Stripe.
・What you enter in the contact form: your email address, name, message, job ID, and the email address you used at checkout.
・How you first found us: the host name of the referring site, the first page you opened, the parameters added to ad links (such as utm_source), and the ad click identifier (gclid).
・Aggregate analytics: pages viewed, referrer, country, device and browser type, and actions in the Service (choosing a video, submitting it, going to checkout, completing payment).
2. Cookies and browser storage
We use one cookie, `__session`, to keep you signed in. It cannot be read by JavaScript (httpOnly) and lasts at most 14 days.
We do not use cookies for advertising or for tracking you across other sites.
Our analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) works without cookies and does not track you across other sites.
How you first found us is kept in your browser's localStorage and sent to the Service once, when you submit a video. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
3. IP addresses
To keep automated traffic out, your IP address is sent to Cloudflare Turnstile as part of its check. The Service itself does not store IP addresses.
4. Why we use it
・To run the restoration and deliver the result
・To take payment
・To prevent abuse and excessive load
・To investigate faults and improve quality
・To answer your enquiries
・To understand how the Service is used, and to measure the effect of advertising and promotion
5. Processors
We rely on the following providers. Some of them process data on servers outside your country.
・RunPod (USA) — image analysis. Your video clip is sent there.
・Cloudflare (USA) — file storage, and the automated-traffic check
・Stripe (USA) — payment processing
・Google Firebase (USA) — anonymous user identifiers
・Google (USA) — the contact form
・Vercel (USA) — hosting and analytics
・Turso (USA) — database
We do not share your information with anyone else except where the law requires it.
6. Card details
Card numbers are collected directly by Stripe. They never pass through our servers and we do not store them.
7. How long we keep things
・The uploaded video clip — deleted automatically 24 hours after processing ends
・The restored image and the selection thumbnail — deleted automatically after 30 days
・Job and payment records — kept for as long as accounting and tax rules require
・How you first found us — kept for as long as the job and payment records
・Contact form submissions — kept for as long as we need to answer and follow up
8. Keeping it safe
Stored files can only be reached through short-lived signed links issued on demand. The full-resolution result cannot be retrieved until payment is complete.
9. Access, correction and deletion
We will disclose, correct or delete the information we hold at your request. Because the Service is anonymous, we need your job ID (shown on the results list and on each result page) to identify it.
